To find the perfect Christmas Tree is not as easy as it looks, but for the 11th year we again got the perfect Christmas Tree. It may not look perfect by first glance but to those who had a fun day spending time with family and friends, sledding, 4-wheeling, eating donuts and hot chocolate and hiking around the mountain, it is the perfect tree! Thanks for coming with us this year Robinsons, Deans, Grandma and Aunt Jill!
As you can see we had a football player and his cheerleaders, and yes, there was controversy while trick-or-treating...first the U of U cheerleaders got a handful of candy, then the BYU cheerleader would get the handful...back and forth!!! It was pretty funny but I think they all came out even in the end!
The girls were in a cheer camp which one of the local high schools does as a fundraiser. They had so much fun learning the cheers and the dance to their favorite Hannah Montana music; they then performed during halftime at the football game! "Gimmie a Y, Gimmie a B" is Anna's new cheer! Ellie likes to teach all of her friends what she has learned "Red, Gold, come on let's go"! (In case you were wondering, yes they both want to be cheerleaders for Halloween)!
The kids said they weren't excited to go back to school, but both of them were up at 7:00 dressed and backpacks on their backs ready to go (school doesn't start until 8:50)! As for mom and the little girls, I will miss my big helpers but the fighting and teasing from being bored won't be missed, Anna will miss her friends to play with but is excited for her preschool to start in a couple weeks, and Lucy will hopefully enjoy some uninterrupted naps!
Isn't it amazing what a difference a year makes, especially the first year! We can hardly believe that our baby is one. It is a little sad to think of all the things that she has done and that she is doing that will be the last for us i.e. the last time to hold our own newborn, the last first tooth, the last first smile, the last first steps. But at the same time I can't wait for some of the lasts such as the last time she will get up 3 times a night (she is a horrible sleeper), the last time to buy diapers etc. We have thoroughly enjoyed this little one in our family, she brings a happiness to our home that everyone can feel when she is around! Happy Birthday Lu-Lu!
We went on a fun getaway to Paragoonah with friends the Haight's and the Moore's. I don't think I saw my kids all weekend they had so much fun playing with friends! It sure was nice to get away even though it was a little chilly. We love this time of year, getting out and camping, riding bikes and having fun! Look out sand dunes, here we come!
